She didn’t use fancy products to keep her legendary face smooth and taut – she chewed gum in the belief that it firmed up her jaw and helped to drain the toxins out from under her chin. She was also religious about her cleansing regime, and would splash her face 25 times with ice cold water after every wash.

I like misting my face with rose water in morning. It's so refreshing! It's moisturizing and great for the winter when my skin gets really dry.

"I travel a ton. So when I get puffy, I brew some chamomile tea, then stick the teabags in the freezer. After a few minutes, I put them over my eyes. The result is miraculous!"

I like going to the bathhouse. In Russia, it’s a very big tradition. There are two in Moscow [that I go to]: One has been around for 135 years. And the second one is basically like a brick oven. They make it hot—all night long they put wood in the stove—and then the construction of the room itself is very different. You go upstairs and there is a wooden platform with gaps to let the steam through. Nowhere else in the world has anything like this—the temperature goes up to 110 degrees.  It’s so good for your skin…it’s not like a steam room, which is always the same temperature—there’s circulation, so the air is clean.

"Don’t wash your face in the morning, at all, never. Because at night your skin is rebuilding some of the oils that you need to keep your skin young, and it balances the pH. You can splash it with water, do something mild – but you don’t want to get rid of that. And if your skin is dirty in the morning, it means you didn’t clean well at night.”

"I drink at least 1liter of water a day and
I eat a lot of fish and vegetables. And I believe in calcium, magnesium
and pure fish oil. It’s really good.
I always eat healthy and I don’t have to worry about my shape. And
I do lots of sports, like surfing, riding, yoga."

"I do a honey mask a couple of times a week. I get it at Whole Foods - it's called Really Raw Honey. It's calming and it's nourishing. I can eat it too! It's amazing what your diet can do for your skin. I eat as many raw foods as I can. I have fruit for breakfast and a salad for lunch. I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat wheat, so I'm the world's most annoying dinner guest, but it really helps my skin."
